Using Fax Voip with BVRP Classic Phone Tools 9

You can download BVRP Classic Phone Tools 9 software from our site: http://www.t38faxvoip.com/downloads/ClassicPhoneTools9ENU.exe . Or you can download  it  at http://www.avanquest.com/USA/small-business/communication-software/.

  1. Using versions of  BVRP Classic Phone Tools below 9 is not recommended, because some voice functions described in this manual may not work properly with earlier versions of BVRP software.
  2. Follow the BVRP Setup Wizard.
  3. Create virtual Fax Voip COM port from Fax Voip FaxModem Control Panel.
  4. Attach modem for Fax Voip COM port. To install modem open your Fax Voip FaxModem Control Panel, select “Lines”, then click “Modems” button. Follow instructions in “Adding/Removing Fax Voip modems” or in “Configuring 3-rd party Virtual COM Ports” sections of this user manual. Note, that current version of  Fax Voip installs modified drivers for "Standart 14400 bps Modem" with support for "Caller ID via TAPI" function. Therefore, you should not add modems using "Phone and Modem Options" system window.

To configure Modem with BVRP Classic Phone Tools

  1. Start BVRP Classic Phone Tools program.
  2. In the main window click <MENUS> button, then select “Setup”, then click “General Setup”.

  1. In “General Setup” window select tab “Communication”, then click <Change modem> button.

  1. Follow the instructions of "Device Configuration wizard". Select “Standart 14400 bps Modem”, attached to your Fax Voip COM-port, then click <Next> button.

  1. In the next step, make sure that the Fax Voip is running. To start Auto-detection of the modem, click <Next> button.

  1. At the end of Auto-detection you will see results. The Fax Command Set for your modem will be auto-detected as "Fax Class 1". The Voice Command Set for your modem will be auto-detected as "Voice IS101 Lucent Handset Mulaw". You should agree with this auto-detection. Note that you can manually select  another Voice Command Set for Fax Voip, if to select “Do not automatically detect the driver” option in the previous step. Some Voice Command Sets will be compatible, others are not.

  1. Click <Next> button, then click <Finish> button.
  2. In “General Setup” in “Communication” tab, please make sure that the field “Loadspeaker” has the value "Off", and the field “Mode” in the “Reception” section has the value "Fax" (Even if you intend to use the Answering machine!!!) If you see the other values, correct.

  1.  Click <OK> button to close “General Setup” window and save settings.

To configure Remote Message Retrieval function

Remote Message Retrieval allows the user to dial in from a remote location in order to check for received voice messages. The user can manage voice mailbox remotely via DTMF tones. DTMF Detection  function is supported by the current version of Fax Voip. We can note that Remote Message Retrieval functionality is implemented in BVRP Classic Phone Tools program quite well and simply. For example for the implementation of this function in Venta Fax, the customer need to write special scripts that may not always be possible. Speaking frankly, we can also note some strangeness when using the Listening to all messages command (see below), but on the whole the function works very well.

1.      In the main window click <MENUS> button, then select “Setup”, then click “Answering Machine Setup”.

2.      In the “Voice” tab of the “General Setup” window click <Remote Msg. Retrieval> button.

3.      In the Remote Message Retrieval window enter your desired Access Code. This code serves as a pin, and will be required of you each time you dial in remotely to access your messages. It must be four digits long.

4.      Assign different values (i.e. phone keys) to each of the following functions: Message replay, Next message, Deleting a message, Listen to all messages.

5.      Click <OK>.

6.      To use this function, you should switch to "Greeting and record" mode for incoming calls (see below). Access Code must be entered at the time of listening the Answering Machine Greeting.

  1. In the final wizard step, click <Finish> button.

  1. In the “Confirm Transmission” window, click <Send> button.
  2. The BVRP Classic Phone Tools program will automatically call the fax number and send the fax.

1.      Start BVRP Classic Phone Tools program.

2.      In the left pane of the program main window, click <VOICE MAIL> button.

5.      Select (activate) “Greeting only” option, if you do not want to Receive both Fax & Voice Messages. For example, you can use the following voice greeting: “We are not able to take a call at this time. Please try again later.” After playing the greeting connection breaks.

6.      Select (activate) “Greeting & record” option, if you want have a possibility to Receive both Fax & Voice Messages. After playing the greeting you can leave a Voice Message or Send a Fax. This option also can be used with the “Remote Message Retrieval function described above. Access Code must be entered at the time of listening the Answering Machine Greeting.
