To configure Fax Voip T.38 Console to send faxes during incoming call

In this chapter we consider the following example:


1.     When an incoming call to number 101, Fax Voip T.38 Console sends fax#1.tif to caller.

2.     When an incoming call to number 102, Fax Voip T.38 Console sends fax#2.tif to caller.

3.     When an incoming call to number 103, Fax Voip T.38 Console sends fax#3.tif to caller.

4.     In addition, we register Fax Voip T.38 Console with our SIP PBX with the following SIP extensions: 101, 102, 103. This will allow to use PBX functions to navigate between the fax documents. The basic ideas of PBX ​​settings will be discussed in the next chapter using AXON PBX example.


To configure Fax Voip T.38 Console do the following:


1.     Open Fax Voip T.38 Console Control Panel.

2.     Click VOIP in TreeView, then click Incoming Plan.

3.     Click New to create the rule.



4.     In the VOIP Protocol area select SIP option. In the VOIP Call From area select From Number (Username)= option, then select <any>. In the VOIP Call To area select To Number (Username)= option, then type 101.

5.     In the Call To Fax Voip T.38 Console area select Send a fax (fax on demand) option. Use the button to the right of the text box Fax to be sent to select the fax document, that you want to use with the current rule. In our example we will select the fax *{CommonAppDataFolder}\FaxVoip Console\fax-on-demand\fax#1.tif. Test faxes are available after installation of Fax Voip T.38 Console program.

6.     To send a fax as audio, select G.711(audio) option. To send a fax with T.38 support, select T.38 support option.



7.     If T.38 support option is selected, should understand that there are 2 different ways to send T.38 fax. Switch to Fax page. In the Fax Support area, check Send T.38 re-invite option, to apply T38 Fax with Re-invite mode, see also T38 Fax with Re-invite + G711 Fax Mode (T38+R,G711) chapter of this user manual.



Uncheck Send T.38 re-invite option, if you don’t want to force T.38.



8.     On the Fax page, configure other audio fax and T.38 parameters to change default settings if need. See also Incoming VOIP Call Routing Settings, Fax Settings chapter of this user manual. On Fax page you can also change or specify Fax Station ID and Fax Headline. In the Codecs page you can change voice codecs, that can be used with the rule.

9.     Click <OK> button to save the rule.

10.     Similarly create another 2 rules (steps 3-9): to send fax#2.tif when incoming call to number 102 and to send fax#3.tif when incoming call to number 103.

11.     Click <Apply> to save changes.



12.     (Optional). Click SIP in TreeView, then click Registrations.

13.     (Optional). Create extensions 101,102,103 to be possible to use your Fax-On-Demand system with SIP PBX.



14.     Click <Apply> to save changes.

15.     Click <Stop>, then click <Start> to restart Fax Voip T.38 Console.
