Voice Command Sets

Although facsimile command sets are standardized, this has no bearing on Voice Command Sets. As a rule, every modem manufacturer uses its own Voice Command Set, generally very different from those used by other manufacturers. There have been some attempts at standardization (IS-101 and v.253 standards), however, only a few voice modem manufacturers support these standards. Program designed to work with Voice Modems usually performs a series of operations to identify a Voice Command Set supported by your modem. These operations are called Voice Command Set Auto-detection.

Developing the voice commands, we took into account the v.253 standard. We also analyzed the work of the hardware modem with Conexant chipset. We managed to achieve almost perfect work of voice functions with Venta Fax & Voice program. Venta Fax auto-detects Voice Command Set for Fax Voip T.38 Modem as Conexant/Rockwell (v.253). However, other Voice-Fax-Modem programs may detect a different Voice Command Set.

If you have any problems with voice functionality with your Voice-Fax-Modem program, you should try to select another Voice Command Set (or select another compatible type of modem) in your program manually. The Voice command set panel lists some experimental results that can be used when setting up your specific program.

Supported Voice Command Sets are listed in the Voice Command Set panel as shown at the picture below.
