Fax Settings

Fax Support

Fax Mode applied to the current rule.

G.711 audio fax

Check this option to receive faxes as audio.

T.38 fax

Check this option to receive faxes as T.38. This option can be used only with incoming calls via SIP or H.323 line.

Detect T.38 re-invite

If this option is checked, Fax Voip T.38 Modem waits for T.38 re-Invite from the other side. If this option is unchecked, Fax Voip T.38 Modem sends T.38 re-Invite immediately after the connection is established. This option can be used only with incoming calls via SIP or H.323 line.

G.711 Audio Fax Settings

The options, specified in this area, allow you to override default ECM and Maximum bitrate settings for audio fax.

Maximum bitrate

Use this option to change Maximum bitrate. Maximum bitrate value can be set 14400/9600/4800 which corresponds to rate limits of standard protocols used for facsimile. This option overrides the default maximum bitrate, specified in the Fax Settings.

Use default

To change Maximum bitrate, uncheck this option. If this option is checked, the default Maximum bitrate value is used.

Error Correction Mode

Possibility to use Error Correction Mode. This option overrides the default ECM value, specified in the Fax Settings.

Use default

To change default Error Correction Mode settings, uncheck this option. If this option is checked, the default settings are used.

T.38 Fax Settings

The options, specified in this area, allow you to override default ECM, Maximum bitrate and T.38 Redundancy settings for T.38 fax.

Maximum bitrate

T.38 MaxRate is always set to 14400.

Use default

This option is always checked and default Maximum bitrate value is always used.

Error Correction Mode

Possibility to use Error Correction Mode. Error Correction Mode is always possible when T.38 fax mode is used.

Use default

This option is always checked and the default settings are used.

T.38 Redundancy

The options, specified in this area, allow you to override the default T.38 Redundancy settings.

Indication

Specifies the number of redundant T.38 fax packets to be sent to indicate CNG, CED tones, no signal. Ranges varies from 0 (no redundancy) to 5.

LS-Redundancy

Specifies the number of redundant T.38 fax packets to be sent for the low-speed V.21-based T.30 fax machine protocol. Low speed is used during the fax negotiation phase which is done at 300 Bps and is most likely to be affected by bad QoS. Ranges varies from 0 (no redundancy) to 5.

HS-Redundancy

Specifies the number of redundant T.38 fax packets to be sent for high-speed V.17, V.27, and V.29 T.4 or T.6 fax machine image data. High speed is used during the transmission phase which is done between 2400 Kbps and 14400 Kbps. Although bad QoS will deteriorate image quality, a few missing scan lines ultimately does not effect the human's perception of the received image. Ranges varies from 0 (no redundancy) to 5. Note that HS-Redundancy does not really affect incoming faxes, because the receiving party does not send high-speed IFP packets.

Use default

To change default SIP (or H.323) T.38 Redundancy settings, uncheck this option. If this option is checked, the default SIP (or H.323) T.38 Redundancy settings are used.
