Sending Cover Pages (Microsoft Fax)

Parent Previous Next

Mail to Fax - Microsoft Fax function allows you to use fax cover pages when sending faxes from e-mail. A cover page contains user-specified information about a fax sender and a recipient, and often a short message, together with system information, such as transmission date and time.

To specify common or personal cover page template to be used, see Cover Pages Settings (Mail to Fax). The Include cover page with faxes option is responsable for adding the cover page to the fax document. The Allow to send faxes consisting only of a cover page option allows you to send single-page faxes in which the fax message is included as a cover page note. The settings for cover pages can be personalized for different sender e-mail addresses by using Mail to Fax Rules, see also Cover Pages Settings (Mail to Fax Rule).

To specify sender information to be displayed on cover pages, see Sender Information Settings (Mail to Fax). The sender information can be personalized for different sender e-mail addresses by using Mail to Fax Rules, see also Sender Information Settings (Mail to Fax Rule). Note, that the e-mail address, associated with the sender, that also can be displayed on the cover page is forcibly extracted from the e-mail message.

The Recipient Name, as well as the Recipient Fax Number should be specified in the subject line of your e-mail message, see picture below.

Cover page subject and cover page note should be included in the body part of your e-mail message. The string that contains the contents of the cover page subject should be enclosed in square brackets and placed above the text that contains the contents of the cover page note. Empty strings in the beginning of the text and also between the subject and the note are ignored. The figure below shows how to create an e-mail message.
