Voice Modem Functionality and DTMF Detection

Voice Modem Functionality is supported with Fax Voip Virtual COM Ports (modems). Fax Voip T.38 Modem can operate not only with faxes, but also with voice messages.


Voice Modem Functionality – possibility to operate as Voice Modem. In other words, the following functions are possible:



In the recording process, a modem transforms sound signals into digital Voice Data Format. When playing a voice message, a modem transforms digital signals into sound signals.


Facsimile Command Set is used to control the Fax Functions. Fax Voip T.38 Modem operates as Fax Class 1.


Voice Command Set is used to control the Voice Functions.


DTMF Detection feature allows to recognize the DTMF signals in the Voice mode. This can be used when operating with voice and fax mailboxes.


Voice Data Formats and Voice Command Sets supported by Fax Voip T.38 Modem are discussed below.


Voice Modem Functionality are supported by the Fax Voip 14.4K TAPI Voice-Fax Modem driver via TAPI and not only in the passthrough mode.


Depending on the capabilities of your Voice-Fax-Modem software, Voice Modem Functionality and DTMF Detection allow to realize the following functions:



Due to the lack of common standards for voice modems, the behavior of different Voice-Fax-Modem programs may vary. In other words, voice modem functions can be supported in part.
