Running Fax Voip Softphone via Remote Desktop (RDP)

Previous Next

With Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) you can remotely do settings and run applications at your computer. RDP is a standard Windows feature, no need to download complicated, sometimes poor-quality third-party software. You can use RDP to remotely install and configure Fax Voip Softphone application. The administrator account should be used.

To do necessary settings on the computer where Fax Voip Softphone installed, see Configure RDP on the computer I want to connect to.

To connect to the computer with Fax Voip Softphone from the other machine, see Connect to remote computer using RDP.

You can also operate with Fax Voip Softphone via RDP, but should take into account that, depending on the version of your operating system and connection method (console or terminal), some features may not work correctly. In particular, you can not use Fax Soft Virtual Printer via a terminal connection to the server operating system. Also this feature will not work via any type of RDP connection if Fax Voip Softphone installed on Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008/2008R2, Windows Server 2012/2012R2 or Windows Server 2016. We also can not guarantee correct operation of the program in the case of multiple connections to the server operating system via terminal sessions.

Some of the most well-known problems and solutions when connecting via RDP described in section Troubleshooting using RDP of this chapter.

Note that if you need remote assistance, you should grant access to your computer via standard RDP connection, as described in this chapter. It should be noted that our experts do not use any other software for remote assistance.
