Fax to Mail

The Fax To Mail function is implemented using Route through e-mail Incoming Routing Method. Depending on the Caller Number (Caller ID) and Called Number (DID), incoming fax can be routed to different e-mail addresses. The same incoming fax can be routed to one or more e-mail recipients. To, CC and BCC e-mail fields can be used, the fax delivery format (TIFF, PDF or SFF) can be selected individually for each rule.

To configure Fax To Mail, you usually need to create one or more e-mail routing rules, configure SMTP settings, and modify 'Incoming Fax' e-mail template (if necessary).

To use this functionality, you need Fax Voip T.38 Console Lines license and (optionally) Extended Fax Routing (E-mail, Store In Folder, Print, Fax-On-Demand) license. For more details, see Route through e-mail Incoming Routing Method.

Mail to Fax and Mail to Audio

The Mail to Fax function will let you send faxes directly from your e-mail application. The body of your e-mail messages will act as the fax cover page, while any attached documents (e.g. PDF, TIFF, or TXT formats) will be converted into additional fax pages. Faxes can be sent to multiple recipients, and you can mix different formats as attachments to your messages.

The Mail to Audio function allows you to send audio messages via phone line from your e-mail program. The audio message should be attached in WAV or MP3 format.

To enable and configure Mail to Fax (Mail to Audio) function, see Mail To Fax (Mail to Audio) chapter of this user manual. You also need to configure POP3 / IMAP settings. To enable notifications of a successful or failed fax delivery to the sender's e-mail addresses, you also need to configure SMTP settings.

Delivery Receipts via E-mail

Delivery notification receipts provide users with information about the success or failure of their sent faxes and audio messages. An e-mail receipt is sent to the predefined e-mail address(es) and regardless of the method of creating a fax or audio message. The delivery receipt can be sent to one or more e-mail recipients. To, CC and BCC e-mail fields can be used. A copy of the sent fax can be attached to the e-mail message in TIFF, PDF or SFF format. A copy of the sent audio message can be attached to the e-mail message in WAV format. The Delivery Receipts via e-mail functionality is implemented using E-mail Delivery Receipts Outgoing Routing Method. For compatibility with some other functions, the old Delivery Receipts via E-mail functionality was not removed in Fax Voip version 8.3.1, and also in Fax Voip T.38 Console version 9.1.1, and you can use both functions independently of each other.
