Versions History

Version 3.3.1 (October 2021)

  • In the Fax Voip FSP Control Panel, Dialing Rules (Microsoft Telephony) page added. On this page you can configure dialing rules (TAPI) and see how fax number in canonical format will be translated into dialing string and how it will be displayed in Windows Fax and Scan software. In user manual, added instructions on how to configure dialing rules (Dialing Rules Overview chapter).
  • When using Mail To Fax function and Mail to Fax Rules, added possibility to translate fax number to non-canonical format before creating a fax job, including using the dialing rules (TAPI) specified in the Phone and Modem options in Windows Control Panel.
  • When using Mail To Fax function and Mail to Fax Rules, added possibility to add prefix before fax number. In particular, this can be used to route faxes from different e-mail users via different SIP accounts. The specified prefix can be then removed when applying the Outgoing VOIP Call Routing rules (If Number starts with and Remove digits... options).
  • When using Remove digits option in the Outgoing VOIP Call Routing rules, you now can remove not only digits, but also any other characters at the beginning of the number.
  • Fixed some issues with DNS SRV lookup, in particular when using a proxy. Critical with some providers, such as Deutsche Telekom (tel.t-online.de), that no longer use the DNS A record to resolve the IP address of the SIP server. Sometimes this can be used to automatically detect the correct port number on which the SIP server is listening.
  • In the Fax Voip FSP Control Panel, added commands to create a copy of the selected routing rule or SIP Registration entry. Applied to SIP Registrations, Outgoing VOIP Call Routing, Incoming VOIP Call Routing, Incoming Fax Routing Methods (Route through e-mail, Store in a folder, Print), Outgoing Fax Routing Methods (E-mail Delivery Receipts, Store in a folder, Print) and Mail to Fax Rules. Can be useful when creating a large number of similar rules or SIP Registration entries.
  • In the Fax Voip FSP Control Panel, added commands to enable or disable selected rule(s). Applied to Incoming Fax Routing Methods (Route through e-mail, Store in a folder, Print) and Outgoing Fax Routing Methods (E-mail Delivery Receipts, Store in a folder, Print).
  • Configuring Windows Fax Service to archive all successfully sent faxes to Sent Items folder. This is required for correct operation of the Outgoing Fax Routing Methods.
  • Possibility to configure Use device Transmitting Subscriber ID (TSID) option (Windows Fax Service software) using Reinstall Fax Voip FSP Services command in the Fax Voip FSP Control Panel.
  • Some other improvements.

Version 3.2.1 (October 2020)

  • E-mail Delivery Receipts outgoing fax routing method. Sending e-mail receipt to the predefined e-mail address(es), to confirm whether the fax has been sent correctly. Depending on the recipient's fax number, the name of the computer user account who submitted the fax job, and the success or failure of sending the fax, delivery receipt can be sent to different e-mail addresses. Sending delivery receipts to multiple recipients including using Cc and Bcc boxes. Fax can be attached to e-mail message in TIFF, PDF or SFF format. Customizable E-mail Templates. Customizable filename templates. Customizable date and time formats. This method is a replacement for Delivery Receipts via E-mail function. It works regardless of the user account under which the fax job was created (the main issue in the previous implementation). The old functionality has been completely removed from the application.
  • Store in a folder outgoing fax routing method. Copying outgoing faxes to specified folders depending on the recipient's fax number, the name of the computer user account who submitted the fax job, and the success or failure of sending the fax. Saving outgoing fax into multiple folders. Possibility to select fax saving format: TIFF, PDF or SFF. Customizable filename templates. Customizable date and time formats.
  • Print outgoing fax routing method. Printing outgoing faxes depending on the recipient's fax number, the name of the computer user account who submitted the fax job, and the success or failure of sending the fax. Possibility to print outgoing fax to multiple printers.
  • Custom routing for outgoing faxes. Allows you to easy add any routing functionality by using custom application that is started after sending a fax. Code sample is attached.
  • A new variable %FaxAccount% has been added to the Fax successfully sent and Failed to send a fax e-mail templates, as well as to the filename templates for outgoing faxes. Replaced by the name of the computer user account (fax account) who submitted the fax job.
  • The 'Fax Voip FSP Extended Incoming Routing (E-mail, Store in Folder, Print) license' has been renamed to 'Fax Voip FSP Extended Fax Routing (E-mail, Store in Folder, Print) license' and now applies to both Incoming Fax Routing Methods and Outgoing Fax Routing Methods.
  • Fax Timeouts implemented: waiting for call answer, time to establish connection with a fax, fax page transmission time, maximum call duration. Using these options allows the Fax Voip FSP to forcibly terminate the VoIP phone call and free up fax resources (Fax Voip Line virtual devices).
  • An auxiliary mechanism to forcibly restore SIP Registration implemented. Can be helpful in the case of unstable registration.
  • The TIFF compression format for faxes received by the Fax Voip FSP lines has been changed from CCITT T.4 to CCITT T.6 in accordance with the fax service requirements and ITU-T Recommendation T.6. Fixed invalid values in TIFF tags number 282 (XResolution) and 283 (YResolution). In particular, the issue with printing received faxes in the Windows Fax and Scan application has been fixed.
  • Fixed bug that could lead to partial loss of settings when clicking <Apply> button and then closing the Fax Voip FSP Control Panel window.
  • In previous versions, user could specify a two-digit number in the Remove Digits option in the Outgoing VOIP Call Routing rule, which caused an outgoing call error. Fixed. By design, you can delete no more than first 9 digits in the number being dialed.
  • In user manual, added instructions on how to configure fax server (Windows Server OS) to be shared with client computers (Sharing Fax Resources chapter).
  • In user manual, added instructions on how to view and manage faxes created by another user (To access faxes created by another user chapter). Added instructions on how to send a fax on behalf of another user account (To send a fax using a different fax account chapter).
  • In user manual, added instructions on how to enable Outgoing Fax Routing Methods and Intelligent fax retransmission functionalities in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008R2, where they do not work by default. To fix the problem, you should manually install the hotfix (KB2535158) provided by Microsoft.
  • Some other improvements.

  • Intelligent fax retransmission: when retrying, the fax transmission is started commencing with the first page that was not successfully transmitted to avoid having to resend pages that have already been completed.
  • In the e-mail templates, you now can select the locale (region and language) to specify how to display date and time values.
  • Individual e-mail templates when using Route through e-mail fax routing method (Fax Voip FSP Routing Extension).
  • Customizable filename templates when using Store in a folder fax routing method (Fax Voip FSP Routing Extension). Customizable date and time formats.
  • Customizable attachment filename templates when using Route through e-mail fax routing method (Fax Voip FSP Routing Extension). Customizable date and time formats.

  • In the Fax Voip FSP Control Panel, in the Tools tab of the Ribbon, added commands for managing your Windows Contacts (Address Book).
  • Updated help system.
  • Some other improvements.

Version 2.3.1 (December 2017)

  • Mail to Fax function. Will let you send faxes directly from your e-mail application. The body of your e-mail messages will act as the fax cover page, while any attached documents (e.g. PDF, TIFF, or TXT formats) will be converted into additional fax pages. Faxes can be sent to multiple recipients, and you can mix different formats as attachments to your messages. Mail to Fax function can be configured to be started as Windows Service.
  • Mail to Fax Rules. Depending on the e-mail address, the following settings can be overridden: Delivery Receipts, E-mail Attachments, Cover Pages, Sender Information, Fax Priority and Schedule, E-mail Templates. Blocking unwanted e-mail addresses.
  • Delivery Receipts via e-mail function. An e-mail receipt is sent to the predefined e-mail address(es), to confirm whether the fax has been sent correctly. A copy of the sent fax can be attached in TIF, PDF or SFF format. Multiple e-mail recipients can be specified including using Cc and Bcc boxes.
  • New customizable E-mail Templates to be used with Mail to Fax and Delivery Receipts via e-mail functions: Fax successfully sent, Failed to send a fax, Failed to create fax job.
  • Direct Converting to Fax function. Will let you convert some of the most popular formats into compatible fax format (TIFF) without using printing. Supported formats: PDF, TIFF, SFF, QFX, BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, ICO, WMF (EMF). Currently used with Mail to Fax function.
  • Repair ‘printto’ verbs function. Fixes printing from Windows Service and repairs standard file associations. Supported formats: TXT, BMP, DIB, EMF, GIF, ICO, JFIF, JPE, JPEG, JPG, JXR, PNG, RLE, TIF, TIFF, WDP, WMF.
  • When direct converting from PDF into TIFF, fixed a bug when process is stucking at 100% of CPU resources forever with some PDF files. Previously detected in Fax Voip T38 Fax and Voice v.7.1.1 - 7.5.1.
  • When direct converting from PDF into TIFF, fixed a bug with the inability to work with PDF file names in Unicode (not in English). This problem is currently present in all versions of Fax Voip T38 Fax and Voice, including v.7.5.1.
  • Fixed problem with SIP Registration with some equipment and VoIP Service Providers (e.g. T38FAX.com, mondotalk.com). RFC3261 does say the registrar must send back ALL registrations, however we only should deal with replies from the registrar that we actually requested. Sometimes registrar tries to be smart and adjusts the Contact field to be the external address as per the Via header rport. IMHO this is a bug as it does not follow what is implied by RFC3261/10.2.4 and 10.3 step 7. It should include the original as well as the extra Contact, but it does not.
  • Some other improvements.
